Over the years, we have refined the procedure to maximize your comfort and time. Here’s what you can expect.
Dental implants in Napier, NZ, are more than tooth replacements. Patients describe them as a fresh start to life. Dental implants restore full chewing power so you can enjoy all your favorite foods without limitations. In addition, dental implants provide durability, natural aesthetics, renewed confidence, and unique benefits like jawbone preservation.
Dr. Jagadeesan doesn’t recommend dental implants for children or teenagers because their jawbones are still developing. Placing an implant in a growing jaw can lead to complications, such as the implant becoming misaligned over time. We wait until jaw development is complete—usually around age 18–21, depending on the individual. Dental X-rays and scans help us determine if your jawbone is fully matured to support an implant.
The good news is that you are never too old for dental implants. Many patients in their 60s, 70s, 80s—and even 90s—can receive implants. As long as you have adequate bone density, healthy gums, and good systemic health, it’s never too late to rebuild your smile with dental implants.
